During the process of switching mounts you can get hit, put in combat, and then not be able to remount for a while. Meanwhile, skyscale is great for covering horizontal and vertical distance so even if you get put in combat, it doesn't matter as you don't have to remount if you never had to dismount in the first place.
Members. 3. Posted August 12. Hi all! I understand the comparison between Skyscale in GW2 and dragonriding in WoW is inevitable but after trying both I feel like riding a Skyscale in GW2 could be a lot more fun if it brought some of WoW's dragonriding features to GW2. I am not the most active GW2 player but I did spend a good amount of time inJust tried everything in my arsenal, with Bond of Vigor, Bond of Faith and Tier 3 Gliding Booster, a Skyscale can let you vertically reach a ledge as high as 5500 units. This is about 2000 with Springer. Also, Skyscale can reset its energy even if there's a little ledge on a cliff, making it's height ceiling unlimited.
The Skyscale will be to Guild Wars 2 what a helicopter is to aviation in real-life, I'm told. "We talked about the griffon [the game's existing flying mount] being a jet engine," Linsey Murdock
One of the real design achievements of GW2 is that all of the mounts have a unique gameplay and all serve a purpose and have their uses. Some more than others of course, but all are useful in some way and none of them can do everything. The Skyscale comes close to being an all purpose mount, but still has limitations. It's finally done. I hope you enjoy your new mount!! That gem store skin was too good to pass up :)Twitter (Stream Updates): SrUG03.
